Welcome to
The Rainbow Nursery

Welcome to The Rainbow, we are a privately owned Nursery which was established in September 1993. Our nursery is located in the village of Burghfield Common on the outskirts of Reading. We are a team of passionate individuals who strive to treat every child as unique; believing children should be encouraged to become independent, learning how to choose their own activities and co-operate with others. Caring for children from 2 years to 5 years.

Our learning environment:

Outdoor play area - a large part of each day is spent learning outdoors at Rainbow. Our outdoor play area has recently benefitted from various improvements to utilise the available space for learning/sensory based activities.

Tapestry - an easy-to-use and secure online learning journal helping staff and families celebrate their children’s learning and development. It enables our Early Years Educators , Parents/Carers, and even the child (once they are ready) to share their experiences and development with each other.

Forest School - introduced during our Autumn term 2021 and something we aim to continue following some superb feedback from both parents and children! Forest School is a child centred learning process offering holistic growth. It supports play, exploration and supported risk taking in a natural setting. For children 3-5years

Allotment - Just a short walk from the nursery, we have our own Nursery Allotment. In small groups the children visit the allotment to plant, weed and water. They learn all about the plants/vegetables we grow there.
