Our Vision

At our Nursery we believe every child, family and member of staff matters. Improving the life chances of our children through high quality care and learning is at the heart of what we do.

We have a clear vision of what we want to achieve at our Nursery

* to provide a safe, caring and happy stimulating place where everyone is valued and where differing needs are acknowledged, accepted and met.

* to celebrate the uniqueness of every child and their family, valuing all that they bring to our learning community.

* to encourage each child to be independent and develop a sense of responsibility for themselves and respect for the environment.

* to equip children with the skills, knowledge and attitude to become confident and prepared for their next stage of learning.

* to ensure we provide high quality teaching and learning, that both nurtures and challenges our children, encouraging them to become lifelong learners.

* to develop strong partnerships with parents and professionals so that together, we can make a difference. Positive, caring relationships are at the heart of our philosophy.

Our Aims and Objectives

We aim to meet the social, educational and physical needs of each child in our care in a manner appropriate to their stage of development. On starting at The Rainbow, each child will be designated key people, who will have special responsibility for them.

We follow the guidelines as laid down in the documentation relating to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The EYFS sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five years. Our children’s learning journey is shared via Tapestry. Parents are encouraged to add comments. We carry out Two Year Old Progress Checks, in consultation with parents.

We carry out Parent Consultation Meetings/Telephone calls. Parents are also encouraged to visit the setting to see their child in situ at a mutually convenient time. The staff are also available at the beginning and end of each session to discuss matters with parents.

We also send out monthly newsletters, updates on our Facebook page and our parents notice board.
