Learning

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. We adapt the learning and teaching from Forest school to meet individual children’s needs. Having a range of learning styles helps the children to learn in many ways with the benefit of learning in an environment that is right for them.

I hear and I forget,
I see and I remember,
I do and I understand.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Through play children progress in the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, these areas are:

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Physical Development

Communication and Language

Literacy

Mathematics

Understanding The World

Expressive Arts and Design

‘Children are born ready, able and eager to learn. They actively reach out to other children and into the world around them. Development is not an automatic process, however. It depends on each unique child having opportunities to interact in positive relationship and enabling environments.’
