Groups
At our Nursery we always put your child’s needs first. During the registration period parents have the option for a practitioner to visit their home to get to know the child in a familiar setting.
The children are grouped depending on when their birthday falls. Two to three year olds are in the Sunshine Group, and three to four year olds are in Raindrop Group. We do this to help focus on each child’s developmental needs, ensuring we can support and encourage their growth.
Children mix throughout the day to encourage socialising and their communication and language skills, however for more focussed learning they are separated into their individual groups.
Sunshines
During the early stages of nursery life, Sunshines are initially learning how to separate from carers and settle in to nursery. Relationships are built between carers and key workers to support a child’s growth and development. We concentrate on developing self-care, whilst encouraging communication and language skills, through playing and exploring in a nurturing environment.
Raindrops
Raindrops focus on all the seven areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. We provide a wide range of activities and experiences within these areas to make learning fun and informative. In their third and final term, Raindrops begin to prepare for school; teachers visit from primary schools and children attend taster days at their chosen schools.
